Verlin Wayne (Gil) Chitty
LINCOLN – Verlin Wayne (Gil) Chitty, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in Lincoln, KS. He was born August 16, 1940, in Concordia, KS to George and Susan (Morton) Chitty.
Verlin worked as a John Deere technician for 47 years. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. He married Kathleen Tate on January 12, 1963, in Jamestown, KS.
Verlin is survived by his wife, Kathleen Chitty of Lincoln; son, Robert (Gina) Chitty of Beloit; daughter, Sharon (Alan) Luck of Lincoln; son, Ronald (Trina) Chitty of Gypsum; grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Austin, Braden, Maggie, and Molly; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Rowynn, Rylee, and Layton; brother, Micheal Chitty of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carol Torres.
Visitation: 1-7 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln with a vigil and rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Family will be present 57 p.m.
Funeral mass: 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023, at St. Patrick’ s Catholic Church, Lincoln with burial following the luncheon at St. Patrick’ s Catholic Cemetery.
