BELOIT, KS — The Solomon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) has awarded a $25,000 grant to support the development of the Kingdom Kids Childcare Center, a planned childcare facility that aims to expand childcare availability in Mitchell County.
The grant reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and improve the quality of life in Mitchell County.
Access to childcare continues to be one of the most pressing needs facing rural communities. Limited childcare availability can impact working families, local employers, and overall community growth. The planned Kingdom Kids Childcare Center is intended to help address that challenge by creating additional licensed childcare capacity in Beloit.
The project is being led by Beloit First Christian Church, which has spent several years researching childcare needs, visiting other facilities, and developing plans for the proposed center. When completed, the facility is expected to accommodate up to 71 children.
The Solomon Valley Community Foundation’s grant represents an investment in a community-driven effort to expand childcare resources for local families.
“Childcare is a critical piece of community infrastructure,” said Board President Curt Fraiser. “Supporting projects like this aligns with our mission to invest in initiatives that strengthen our communities and support future generations.”
While the Kingdom Kids project involves a larger capital campaign, the Community Foundation’s grant helps demonstrate local support and momentum as organizers continue fundraising efforts.
Community foundations serve as a hub for charitable giving and community impact, connecting donor generosity with meaningful projects throughout the region.
