CAWKER CITY – The second of two daughters born to Alice Lora Cardwell Greenslade and John Duaine Greenslade at their home in Scandia, KS on July 14, 1929 and died September 1, 2025 in Kissee Mills, MO.
Phyllis graduated from Scandia High School with the class of 1947.
Phyllis was united in marriage to John J. "Jack" Thull on September 7, 1950 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Belleville, KS and to this union five children were born: Michelle, Tom, Rita, Steve, and Brent.
The consummate wife and home maker, Phyllis was an impeccable housekeeper and excellent cook. She kept her home spotlessly clean and instilled the same virtues in her children who were taught to clean house at an early age, and were required to do their chores before going out to play.
Her legacy of making the best cinnamon rolls and delicious pies will continue in the very capable hands of her grandchildren.
Phyllis served as the Avon Lady for several years in the mid-1960's and worked for a time at Terry's Rexall in Cawker City. After Jack retired, they spent many winters in south Texas where they enjoyed the warmer climate and the many new friends they met.
Phyllis was a kind soul who was friend to everyone and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of assistance. Her smiling face and caring demeanor will be missed by all.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, daughters Michelle and Rita, parents Duaine and Alice Greenslade and her sister Norma Aspergren.
She is survived by her three sons: Tom (Shelley) of Topeka, Steve (Chrystal) of Las Vegas, NV, and Brent (Karie) of Kissee Mills, MO; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic parish hall from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3.
A rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 612 12th St., Cawker City, KS. Interment will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1329 D Rd., Cawker City, KS.
