CAWKER CITY – Nancy Lynn (Turner) Bowles was born on July 31, 1955 to Duane and Betty (Burger) Turner. Nancy went to her heavenly home on May 3, 2023 at the age of 67 hears. She passed away at the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy attended Cawker City High School and graduated with the class of 1973.
Nancy was married to Mark Bowles on July 25, 1983. To this union a son, Cody Mathew, was born.
Nancy worked at Carefree Years Boarding Care Home for several years and provided assistance to other elderly when needed. She was an avid gardener and usually had an impressive garden of vegetables and beautiful flowers. She also had a great love for her precious “ fur babies” , Benji and Abby, who brought her so much joy.
Another source of great enjoyment for her was cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Cody Mathew, her parents Duane and Betty Turner; three sisters, April, Jodie, and Deb; and three brothers, Vernon, Johnny, and Gary. She is survived by her husband Mark Bowles; sisters Judy (Dale) Goheen, Becky (Ron) Atwood, and Kim (Rob) Williams. Also survived by brothers, Ronnie Young, Randy Turner, Rick Casey, and Rodney Casey as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and many friends that knew and loved her.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ service will be held on July 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church in Downs, Ks.
