BEVIER, MO – Martha Elizabeth “Betty” Teague, age 86, of Bevier, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO.
Betty was born on March 8, 1934, in Van Buren, Arkansas, the daughter of Richard Ozier and Ida Louise (Wagner) Allen. She was united in marriage to Leroy Leo Spicher in July of 1957. She later married Chester “Chet” Leroy Teague on March 8, 1995 in Columbia, MO. Betty was a model when she was younger. She then started putting her other talent to work, which was her art work and fancy printing. She went to work at Hallmark in Topeka, Kansas. She later worked at the Family Support Division in Macon, MO for several years. Betty was involved in Sorority and then Eastern Star, and the Elks-the Beloit Elks Lodge in the 60’s, 70’s, and finally the Macon Elks Lodge #999. Betty did keep very busing doing her writing and drawings everywhere she went. She was still doing her fancy writing until the end. She passed her fancy writing and art talent on to her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Michael Spicher (Kathy) of Beloit, KS, Mark Spicher (Pam) of Lincoln, NE, and Cheyenne Michelle Spicher-Teague of Oklahoma; four stepchildren; grandchildren, Corey Spicher, Levi Spicher, Savanna Spicher, Kimberly Hoffer, Jason Spicher, Braden Spicher, Brooklynn Meyers, Jeremy Morris, Katie Rosebaugh, Jonathan Simoneau, and Desiree Isaacs; six step-grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester “Chet” Leroy Teague on January 26, 2007; one son, Max Spicher; and one step-son, Timothy Teague.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 2pm at the Bevier 1st Baptist Church in Bevier, MO. A visitation will precede the service starting at 1pm at the church. Family suggests memorials be made to the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home (301 N. Rubey Street, Macon, MO 63552) for funeral expenses.
