INDIO, CAL. – Harold Craig Gentry, 91, Indio, California, passed away March, 28, 2021.
Harold was born May 21, 1929 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Otto Craig Gentry and Hazel Jennings (Huffman) Gentry. He was the eldest of two boys born to this union. As a young boy he grew up taking care of the farm animals and helping tend the land. He was active in sports, 4H and FFA and graduated from Beloit High School in 1947.
He went on to study agriculture at Kansas State University where he was on the Livestock Judging Team. He graduated from KSU in 1951.
He was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1951 and served for two years. It was during this time that he met his future wife Dortha who he married March 6th, 1953 in Anaheim, California.
Harold is survived by his wife Dortha, Indio, California, brother Floyd and wife Marjorie, Beloit, Ks, son Charles and wife Patricia, Manteca, California, daughter Jana, La Quinta California. Grandchildren, Travis, Jason, Matthew, Nicholas and Jennifer. Great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ryan, Jeremiah, Gracyn, Everly, Eli, Parker and Johanna and great greatgrandchild Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Hazel, and son Garry.
Funeral services were held April 2, 2021 at Coachella Garden, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Coachella, California.
