BELOIT – Fern Simpson, 91, of Madison, SD passed away on June 26, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison. A Celebration of Life service will be held graveside at the Elmwood Cemetery July 27th at 10:00 am, in her hometown of Beloit, Kansas.
Fern McHenry was born to Charles and Ruth (Linn) McHenry in Beloit, KS. She graduated from high school in Beloit and spent the rest of her life working in various professions, traveling all over the country, living a life for many years on the farm, learning and mastering the art of quilting. But what she loved most was being a mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, next to loving and trusting her Lord Jesus. No matter where Fern was, she was always touching the lives of others.
Fern is survived by: her son, Ron (Lynn) Travis of Dover, FL; grandchildren, Tyler Travis of Clermont, FL, Dana Baker of Independence, MO, Tina Day of Independence, MO, Rhonda (Gary) Johnson of Madison, SD, Curtis (Beth) Bowen of Camdenton, MO, Toni (Tim) Massey of Lebanon, MO and Angela Cline of Excelsior Springs, MO; 10 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
