GLASCO – Donna Ka Neff, 76, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, in Kansas City, Mo., after a long battle with Lewy body dementia.
Donna was born in Glasco, Kan., On Aug. 28, 1945, as the middle of three children to Jess Neff Jr. and Retha Viola (Stortz) Neff.
With the exception of a few years working in Salina and Wichita, Donna lived most of her life in Glasco, a town in which she took great pride. Donna’ s career spanned diverse jobs. She worked as a respiratory therapist, patient care technician, and as an entrepreneur early in her career. Many people know her best from when she owned and operated a beauty parlor in Glasco. Donna later retired after nearly 20 years working at Walmart in Concordia.
Donna never married and had no children, but bestowed great love on her niece and nephew and their children. She enjoyed being outdoors, watching movies, chatting with close friends, traveling and being with family.
In 2020, Donna relocated to Kansas City where she could be closer to family.
Donna was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Deana Ray Neff. She is survived by brother Frederick Neff and wife LeRae of Holt, Mo.; adopted brother Alphonse Gagnon and wife Irene of Andover, Kan.; nephew Nick Neff and wife Melissa of Lenexa, Kan.; niece Christina Daugherty and husband Matt of Kansas City, Mo.; great nephews Logan Daugherty, 13, and Kasen Neff, 4; and twin great nieces Lorelai and Caris Daugherty, 3.
Donna’ s remains were cremated and she will be laid to rest alongside her parents and sister in the family plot in Glasco in a service at a later date.
