Carl M. Cox, 38, Beloit

Posted

BELOIT – Carl was born on August 16,1981 in LaCrosse, Kansas to Harvey and Pene Cox. He moved several times after this - from LaCrosse to Hays to Wichita to Lewiston, Utah and then to Beloit in 1988 at the age of seven.

Carl went to Beloit Jr.-Sr. High School, graduating in 2000, and then he went to NCK Vo-Tech in Beloit, completing the carpentry course.

Carl then went on to work at different places, the favorite being Landoll in Beloit for over 10 years.

His pride and joy, Taylor Jade Cox, was born on June 22, 2003. He loved her dearly.

Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking walks at the lake, and around the rivers. He loved the thrill of riding his high-powered dirt bike, even though he'd end up in the Emergency Room for this thrill.

Carl was easy-going, laid-back kind of guy. He had many friends far and wide through his young life - from high school, where one year he took two pretty gals to prom, to the many many "soul mates" he bonded with in the treatment centers battling his addictions.

He had a special love for God's creatures, starting with his paper route, where dogs followed him home, and even turning an injured rat loose in the basement to heal, and not telling his parents. This didn't end well either. And now missing him are his two dogs and two cats.

Carl left us on February 14, 2019 at his home in Beloit to find peace finally with his demons and an end to his battles.

Carl leaves behind, to remember the good times, his parents, Harvey and Pene Cox of Beloit; brother, Aaron Cox of Beloit; sister, Abby Haller and husband Tony, and their son Mason of Salina; his daughter, Taylor Jade Cox of Glasco; uncles, WH and wife Sheila of Lyndon, Tim Dreibelbis of Beloit, Ted Dreibelbis and wife Shawn of Kennewick, Washington; aunts Patience Walter and husband Tim of Topeka, Linda Wood and husband Roland of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lora Dreibelbis and husband BJ Kamana'o of Salt Lake City, Utah; and many cousins and friends.

Carl's funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on February 19, 2019 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. The officiant was Pastor Mark McReynolds of the Calvary Baptist Church in Beloit. The music selections were "See You When I See You" by Jason Aldean, "Let it Be" by the Beatles and "How Bout You" by Sons of the Republic. The casket bearers were Tony Haller, Justin Milholland, Taron Smith, Jesse Benedick, Nick Reiter and Jerritt Pilcher. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. All arrangements were made by Roberts Family Funeral Service of Beloit.
