Tipton track and field athletes earn State medals / Freshman Wiese is 800m run State Champion

WICHITA – The Tipton Catholic High School qualified 10 athletes for the 1A State track and field competition this year at Wichita State University Cessna Stadium, competing in seven different events under the coaching of track and field coach Aren Coppoc.   

Receiving medals in their events at the State Track and Field competition were freshman State Champion Jaylyn Wiese  in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.70, Senior Ty Brummer placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet, 5.50 inches, and sophmores Erica Brummer and Tara Ellenz, and freshman Anna Towner and Jaylyn Wiese placed fourth in the 4 x 800m relay race with a time of 10:29.57. 

Others state qualifiers included Junior Kaden Barker in the 110m high hurdles, 4 x 400m relay team including freshman Anna Towner and Jaylynn Wiese, and sophmores Tara Ellenz, and Emily Koenigsman (Brooke Hollerich 4x800 alternate and Erica Brummer 4x400 alternate),   sophomore Alex Ketter in the 800m run and freshman, Anthony Henke in the pole vault.
