Beloit represent in All-League baseball/softball

BELOIT – A total of nine Beloit Trojans and Lady Trojans were featured on this year’s All-NCAA League teams on the ball diamonds. The Lady Trojans dominated the league going undefeated and outscoring league opponents 111-34 before falling to league rival Southeast of Saline in the Regional Finals. They finished the season with a record of 18-2-1.

First team selections for the Lady Trojans include Breezy Schroder, Grace Marozas, Jess Meier, and Karson Brown. Schroeder hit a whopping .545 on the season with two home runs, 32 RBI. She also had a stratospheric OPS, which is on-base and slugging percentage combined, of 1.483.

Marozas hit a solid .442 with 28 RBI and a .988 OPS. Meier hit .395 with 17 RBI and a 1.005 OPS. Brown led the team with five home runs. She hit for a .361 average with 24 RBI and a 1.112 OPS.

Darby Odle was a honorable mention selection Odle hit .412 with a home run, 24 RBI and an OPS of 1.078. Odle was also the ace on the Lady Trojans pitching staff for the season she had a mark of 10-1 with 70 innings pitched. She had an outstanding strikeout to walk ratio with 45 punch outs opposed to just six walks. Her ERA was a miniscule 1.7 allowing just 32 runs over those 70 innings pitched.

Other representatives on the ladies all league team are as follows. Jenna Haase, Ellsworth; Jaycee Blazek and Brittany MacLean or Republic County; Sade Van Riper and Lindsay Gack of Sacred Heart. Five Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans made first team honors including Karis Calahan, Morgan Thaxton, Carter Brull, Kate Weis and Taylor Weis.

Honorable mention selections from outside Beloit include Courtney Walke and Kalee Probasco of Minneapolis; Emma Morris and Sadee Grave of Republic County; Whitney Nuss of Russell and Payton Bergkamp of Sacred Heart.. 

On the boys side, Beloit had four players selected for All-League honors after a 10-8 season. Those include Nick Meier, Hudson Smith, Caden Emmot, and Braydon Conn. Meier hit .387 with 23 RBI and 24 runs scored. He also boasted a team leading 1.069 OPS. Emmot hit for a .404 average with 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and a .977 OPS. Smith hit .356 with 10 RBI and a team high 26 runs scored. He also had a solid OPS at .949.

Conn batted .310 with 16 RBI and 20 runs scored. His OPS was .867.

As a pitcher, Meier threw a team high 38 innings. He had a team best earned run average of 2.21 and struck out 60 batters while walking 34.

Other players on the all-league list included Bransen Shulte and Grant Gwinner of Ellsworth; Evan Keating of Minneapolis; Kyle Farmer and Walker Braun of Russell; Cooper Trupin and Andrew Cavendar of Sacred Heart; and four Southeast of Saline players including Bryant Banks, Hunter Whittecar, Grant Tillberg and Kyler Berry. Honorable mention selections on the boy’s side include Cooper Thompson on Minneapolis, Brooks Nichols, Kirk Huser and Koby Decker of Russell. Cade Stover of Sacred Heart and two more SES players, Hunter White and Jaxon Gebhart rounded out the selections.
