Beloit Marauders and Waconda advance in State


BELLEVILLE – The District 1 third place Beloit Marauders won their first round at the Pee Wee State baseball contest on Tuesday with a win over the District 4 Hanover team, 3-1 and will now face their home-town District 2 champions Beloit Venom team tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. on the Lions Field in host Belleville. The winners will advance in either Friday or Saturday's championship game to be announced, with a 7 p.m. pitch.

The District 2 third place Waconda team will also advance after their 12-0 win over the District 3 runner-up Clyde team.

Waconda will play the District 1 champion Beloit Cyclones with an 8:30 pitch tonight at the south fairgrounds field. The winner of tonight contest will advance to the championship game facing the winner of Beloit Venom/Beloit Marauders.
