Bessie "Lynn" Crisp, 91, Leesburg, Fla.

LEESBURG, Fla. – Bessie Lennie (Lynn) Crisp, born in Kingsport, Tenn., on March 13, 1927, passed away March 28, 2018, at the age of 91, at Avante Nursing Home in  Leesburg,  Fla. Lynn, along with her husband Kenneth, owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Lodge on Highway  24 in  Downs for 15 plus years. The lodge provided accommodations for hunters, utility workers, road crews, and travelers.  Lynn, who lived her faith and dedicated her life to the service of others,  would often take in folks that were down on their luck and give them a place to stay and get back on their feet.   She would often feed them as well.  In addition to running the lodge, Lynn worked as a checker at Downs Super Foods for several years. She loved bowling and bowled on several leagues in both Downs and Beloit.

Lynn sold the Wagon Wheel Lodge and moved to  Weirsdale,  Fla., with her husband and son Ronald,  to be near her sisters and brothers.

Lynn will be interred next to her husband and son, Kenneth Wayne, in the Downs Cemetery. A memorial service in her honor will be held in  Long Beach, Calif., and another in  Downs  at a future date when her eldest son, Robert, recovers from heart surgery and is able to travel.   Notification will be given when date, time and place are arranged.

Lynn  was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Robert of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ronald of Weirsdale,  Fla., Ray of Long Beach, Calif., and David of Osborne and their wives and children and grandchildren.
