Barbara Sue (Lape) Solt, 84, Corning

CORNING – Barbara Sue (Lape) Solt, 84, of Corning, Kansas passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Life Care Center in Seneca.

Barbara was born on March 8, 1934 in Salem, Nebraska to Rea and Geneva (Graden) Lape. She was a talented seamstress, gardener (vegetables and flowers), homemaker, organizer, Mom and wife. Barbara worked as a CNA at the Onaga Hospital for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl on May 14, 2018; and a brother, Raymond Lape.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Kay) Solt of Concordia, Kan., Doug (Bobbi) Solt of Beloit, Kan., and Larry Solt of Topeka, Kan.; a daughter, Amy Barber of Wichita, Kan.; her sisters, Betty Horton of Kansas City, Mo., and Beulah Lape of Sabetha, Kan.; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Popkess Memorial Chapel in Seneca, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be made at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Neb. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Solt Memorial Fund, sent in care of Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle Street, Seneca, Kan., 66538.
