With the assistance of the county clerk, the commissioners canvassed the votes during Monday, April 22, 2024, meeting, from the recent mail-in vote on the bond issue for improvements at the high school, elementary school and at the Trojan Field athletic complex.
Carol Porter, a lifelong resident of Beloit, will be turning 90 on May 12th. Carol’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be celebrating with her on the 11th. EMPORIA – Paige Goddard of Beloit, Kansas, was one of over 700 Emporia State undergraduate students named to the university honor roll after the fall 2023 semester.
HAYS – The Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Alumni Office has announced nominees for its three honorary commencement awards. Recipients of each award will be announced at a press conference on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 9 a.m. in the Memorial Union’s Peter Werth Black and Gold Room, with refreshments to follow. The public is welcome to attend and join in celebrating these outstanding Tigers. A video recording of the press conference will be posted on the FHSU Alumni Office Facebook page after the event for those who are unable to attend in person.
