Concannon anxious to return to office

BELOIT – A total of 1,463 voters at 36.2 percent cast their ballots at the Mitchell County polls during the  2018 Primary Election on Tuesday. There were 224 advance voters and a total of 30 provisional ballots. 

The State Rep. Susan Concannon of Beloit and opposing candidate Sam Sacco of Concordia race for the Kansas House District #107 came down to the wire as Concannon received 983 votes in Mitchell County and Sacco received 266 votes. Sacco won in Cloud County receiving 777 (56.10 percent) and Concannon 608 (43.90 percent). The final unofficial tally shows Concannon on top, receiving 2,220 (50 percent) votes to Sacco's 1776 (44 percent) votes. 

Cloud County totaled 1,694 voters that cast their ballots on Tuesday.

"I’m excited about the win last night and moving on to the general election," said Concannon.  "I am so grateful to the voters for the support. I’m looking forward to getting out of campaign mode and back to taking care of the business of our rural communities."

Roger Marshall won the Mitchell County votes for US Representative District 1 with a landslide total of 1,033 over Nick Reinecker at 180 votes.
