Community Blood Drive in memory of Shumate

BELOIT –  A Community Blood Drive is scheduled to take place from 12 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 and again from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6.

Longtime Beloit resident, Denis Shumate loved his family and giving back to his community. Denis was also a dedicated blood donor. Before his death in March, illness forced him to become a blood recipient, yet he continued to advocate for blood donations.

The Shumate family hopes individuals will join in honoring his legacy of helping save lives, at the upcoming blood drive in his memory.

For an appointment, visit the redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
